THAILAND
'PHUKET'
On the plus side, our hotel room was luxurious.......
DAY 1:
After having travelled for 33hrs, we woke up at 1:30pm local time. Rucksacks weren't due to arrive until the following morning, so we were very limited on what we could do. The hotel owner, Phil, had kindly loaned Gary some of his own t.shirts and shorts, unfortunately his wife's clothes were too small for Mrs F...would you believe! We spent all afternoon in our lovely air conditioned room. Phil gave us a laptop to use in our room all day for free, so used the time to work on our blog and skype home. We went out that evening for street food dinner at a place called 'Thai Food'' which was very nice and only 4 quid!
DAY 2:
Our rucksacks arrived at our hotel at 8am, which meant we could freshen up and venture outside :-) Phil kindly took us on a tour of the area in his car, letting us know the best places to eat and where not to. He took us to his friends bar up in the mountains where we had the most amazing view.
Phil gives every guest a mobile so they can call him if they need anything, which is really awesome and even gave Mrs F a pair of hand made leather sandals to wear instead of her chunky walking ones. He also had the cutest little dog called Dobby! :-)
That afternoon, we went for a walk along one of the nearby beaches called ''Karon''
.
Mr F looking happy in the sunshine :-)
We saw this sign on the way out of the beach....good job we've got the top floor room in our hotel!!
Little Dobby......how cute!
That evening, we went to a bar in town called 'Dukes' where we watched the grand prix and had some very delicious food - fried chicken with cashews and rice. You can order and eat food at the bar, that comes from the restaurant over the road. Mr F had a couple of local working girls try to lure him into their massage parlour!! There are alot of old, white men here holidaying by themselves....go figure!
Mrs F looking happy to be fed...
DAY 3:
By the pool all afternoon!!!
We went back to Thai Food for lunch, then chilled out in the room for the rest of the afternoon and went back to Dukes for dinner. Good day :-)
Outside our hotel and road to Thai Food....
The road to dukes.....and the massage parlours
