CONTINUING DAY 2:

After Mount Eden, we got the bus back towards to city centre and strolled around some more. We walked through a park where we stopped to feed the very tame birds - even sparrows were sitting in our hands eating out of them. We walked to some of the local churches and then went to see about hiring a camper van for the rest of the week to travel around. After seeing one of the vans, we both had a gut instinct not to go for that option but rather just hire a car. The camper vans weren't clean, they smelt and advertised "Back Packers" all over the van, which basically says "Come and rob us!"

After looking into hiring a car for the next morning, we headed down towards the harbour. By this time it was getting dark but still only 4pm. (New Zealand gets dark quite early so we discovered)
The harbour was lovely at night all lit up with the city behind it and had quite a few places to eat if you wanna spent a fortune. Since we were now watching our pennies, we went and had dinner in Father Teds, an Irish bar not far from our hotel that were doing steak and chip/mash for a fiver! We both weren't expecting much for that money, possibly a bit of gristle and a few chips....but it was a very delicious 1/4kg rump steak :-)
