ROAD TRIP
CONTINUING DAY 2:

Once back in the car, we had a look at the map to decide our best route towars our next destination, Whangarei. We chose not to stick with the coast route and so ventured inland a bit through Raetea forest which was really good and stopped off at a couple of good points to take pictures. A much prettier place when the sun is shinning and made our road trip alot more enjoyable.

We had a booklet of most hostels for every area and found a quaint one called 'Back Packers Bunkdown'. It was a huge house that an old couple had converted into a hostel -  one side of the house was their living area and the other side was for the backpackers, which had two common rooms, two kitchens with all facilities, loads of bathrooms and of course, rooms.

We went to the local supermarket to get all things needed for a much overdue and needed home made spag bol! We were joined by only one other backpacker who was from Germany called Petra. We all sat and watched the jubilee concert together.
