EXMOUTH
WEST COAST TOUR

Julia had told us that Turquoise Bay on the west coast of Exmouth was really good to go snorkeling and were also advised to go quite early to avoid the crowds of people. So we set out at 8am with some snorkeling gear and drove over to the west coast for 1hour before reaching Turquoise Bay. When we got to the car park, we thought it was a right result that we were the only ones there....then we got out of the car and found out why - it was freezing! (Well, a breezy London summer day)

We walked down to the beach and Mr F headed straight for the water with his snorkel, got as far as knee deep and came rushing back out! It was a stunning little beach spot, the water was so clear and in places was the perfect light and dark blue combination. We took some pictures and decided it was way too cold to go for a snorkel and headed further south for Yardie Creek instead.

Mr F coming out of the very cold sea....

Mr F left a warning sign to any other people planning to snorkel that morning :-)

On the way to Yardie Creek, we stopped at another beach called Oyster Stacks, which is another good spot for snorkeling - again, very beautiful spot but way too cold to adventure....

We got to literally the end of the road on the west coast at Yardie Creek and went for a walk around the stunning Creek. Unknowing that we were going to Yardie Creek that day and unaware of the little trek, we were completely under dressed for the occasion in flip flops and shorts!

However, it didn't stop us trekking pro's and went on the walk anyway, scrambling up and over rocks and how amazing it was....

Mr F on the trail to the Creek....

Mrs F looking quite cold...

Some of the rocks we conquered in our flip flops!!

Just a little way from the Creek was another little beach with one little rock just a little way into the water, which Mr F went to sit on and consequently scratched his hand in the process of a good photo :-(

Mr F examining his scratched hand with a rather sad look about his face...argh

Another little beach we stopped off at on the way back round to the east side of Exmouth....

We had a really good day even though we didn't get to snorkel, it was lovely just to be out on the road exploring and experiencing new and different places, which is what our travels have all been about. On the way back, we also stopped at the lighthouse again to see if we could see any Whales passing through as it's that time of year that they do, but couldn't see any this time.....
