NHA TRANG
DAY 2:

This day we decided to go over to Vinpearl island, which has a theme and water park. Including entry fee, you can either get the ferry for 650,000 Dong each (18pounds) or the cable car for 450,000 each (13pounds) We chose the cheaper option. The view going across was worth the cable car ride alone, but Mrs F felt very uneasy and glad to be off it! The theme  park had 4 ride for adults, a few for kids and an indoor amusements which were all free to play. We took full advantage of all the free play, especially on the dance machine!

We then went into the aquarium which we both really enjoyed. We got a few good pictures of the sharks and a really good one of a manta rays face as he swam over us.

The water park was quite good. There were quite a few slides, an area for kids, a wave machine and a lazy river. We found it quite strange that the slides were open to an hourly timetable, but it took 45mins to get all the way around in the lazy river anyway. Mrs F bashed both elbows on a couple of water slides ending up with bruises :-( Mr F went down the kamikaze alone as Mrs F too chicken and nearly came out and the bottom skimming on the water!

After drying off, we headed back to the amusements making a pit stop for lunch. Considering you're not allowed to bring food or drink onto the island, the prices weren't that shocking....but the food was!
When we got back to the mainland, we headed straight for the beach bar for a beer and beef skewers before going back to our hotel. That night we ate at an Italian restaurant called 'Olivia" which was very nice.

DAY3:

We had a very startling awakening to this day. Fast asleep at 7:30am when a couple of strangers opened the door and come into our room! Mrs F screamed and Mr F just shouted out "OI!" Shortly after they left, our room phone rang - it was Danny apologising for the incident. A key was given to new guests coded to enter our room as they thought that we had left the night before! Danny apoplogised again at breakfast and Mrs F tried to make light of it by telling him that it didn't help that we had watched a scary documentary the previous night. Danny defensively replied, "Well that's not my mistake!"

We were going to take a boat trip to visit the other islands, but when we looked more into the itinerary of the day, it was more like an 18-30's boat trip out full of drinking games, jumping in the sea and a seafood lunch. Since neither of us like any of the above, we disappointingly opted out and spent the next two days by the pool at the beach bar.

Mrs F enjoying the sun and listening to the i.pod....
On our last night, we went to a local bar where they played West Ham vs Blackpool playoff for the premier league on the big screens. The bar had quite a few West Ham supporters and a couple of Blackpool, who we sat next to. A very nerve racking game with a good result.....West Ham-2 Blackpool-1......COME ON YOU IRONS!!!!
Mrs F ready to cheer on the cockney boys!!!

The last views form our room....

NHA TRANG to HOI AN:

Since the distance between Nha Trang and Hoi An is qute far away, our only option to get there was to take a 12hr overnight sleeper bus. The bunk beds were just like all the baths in Vietnam...made for the average sized asian! Mrs F felt quite cozy in her bed and read 4 chapters of her book but Mr F just about fit his broad shoulders in his bed! The word 'sleeper' isn't meant literally - the ride was very bumpy with the driver breaking sharply and constantly using his horn. He also picked up a few local Vietnamese on the way, who paid him on the sly to sleep on the floor and take their boxes of fish....which leaked out all over Mr F's rucksack!!
Mrs F with the worlds smallest banana!!!

VERDICT OF NHA TRANG:
Mr F: Quite a westernised  resort but a good place to spend a few days.
Mrs F: A supprisingly nice change to be amongst the typical european travelers. Great place to just chill out....at Louisiana Brew House!
